Alianza is a network of Latino/a leaders who work within housing and community development organizations across the United States. Founded in 2019 within the NeighborWorks America network, Alianza provides tools, professional development, and networking opportunities to empower Latino/a executive directors and second-in-command leaders to make a significant impact in their communities.
Alianza supports Latino/a leaders in nonprofit organizations focused on housing and community development. These leaders work to create meaningful change in underserved neighborhoods, addressing issues such as affordable housing, economic empowerment, and social equity.
Alianza’s network includes 46 member organizations across 17 states and Puerto Rico. These organizations represent diverse regions and are dedicated to addressing the unique needs of their communities.
Alianza does not directly provide housing or community services. Instead, we equip Latino/a leaders with the tools, training, and peer support they need to lead their organizations effectively. Through professional networking, strategic planning, and leadership development, Alianza enhances the capacity of its members to make lasting impacts in their communities.
By supporting leaders, Alianza amplifies the work of its member organizations, which collectively help individuals and families achieve affordable housing, financial stability, and stronger communities. Alianza focuses on empowering leaders to address systemic challenges while fostering collaboration within the NeighborWorks network and beyond.
While Alianza does not directly deliver services, our members are actively involved in creating affordable housing, educating future homeowners, and improving neighborhoods. By strengthening leadership within these organizations, Alianza contributes to the success of their missions.
Alianza facilitates virtual meetings, regional gatherings, and strategic planning sessions to foster collaboration and idea-sharing. We also create tools and resources, such as a coalition model guide, to support leaders in achieving their goals more effectively.
Yes, Alianza collaborates with national organizations like UNIDOS, NALCAB, and others to address broader challenges facing Latinx and Native American communities. These partnerships help leverage resources and create innovative solutions to complex issues.
